Back Porch Cheer

"Every year at just this time,
                                                  In cold and dark December,
                                                 Families all around the world
                                                    all gather to remember
                                                with presents and with parties,
                                                  with feasting and with fun
                                                     Customs and traditions
                                                  for people old and young."

I thought I'd use my red decorations outside this year.Red is a color that I don't have much of in my house-I stick with safe, neutral colors.I actually don't mind it outside and thought it looked cheery. And since this may be my last year for having a big back porch,(we may be moving soon)I thought it would be nice to color it up.The sun blares thru the screens,so it was hard  to get pictures without it looking washed out.I didn't buy anything-tho a cheery rug would really have cozied it up.But why spend moolah for something I'd probably not use again?

I snipped the greenery off a tree in the backyard and picked up pinecones there too.

My "Memory Garden" for our 2 angel babies got some love too.

I got the checkered fabric from my Mom.And here is my first attempt at a tomato cage Christmas tree.It needs a little filler, but I have been  super busy with company every week for over a month now,so it's not at the top of my to-do list.

I love these lovely old chairs I got from my Mom when they moved.A red scarf adds a bit of cheer.

The  pallet "mantel".

I stuck a few branches of greenery in a bucket in this lovely lil cruiser.I let it fall as it wished.I like the whimsical, natural look.

The temperatures have actually been in the 60's.Perfect to snuggle up with a cup of hot chocolate and a few homemade cookies.

Let's not forget the real reason for the season.
